Goals and the 2nd half of my life

One week, in my mid forties, I walked out of a successful 20 year career on Wall Street and gave up on a sputtering marriage of 10 years. I think that qualifies as a mid-life crisis. But instead of boats 'n babes my life crashed in a whirlpool of nutty women, depression, alcohol, and drugs that eventually landed me in a mental hospital. So it was more like a mid-life crisis with a nervous breakdown attached to it.

It certainly was not the party I'd always envisioned mid-life freedom to be -- but it has led me to a cool, new place where I have rekindled a great friendship with my ex and best friends who I had detached from, and it's a place where I actually get real joy and satisfaction from helping others who are having tough times.

After ending treatment and going through sober living I believed there was room for improvement in our community for better sober livings and I started a couple of homes. Recently I saw a much greater opportunity in being able to help both prospective sober living guests, and offer what until now has been unavailable to most sober living home manager/owners -- a high degree of organized visibility. We are going to offer this by way of a pictorial based Google page 1 sober living directory on www.soberlivingsearch.com. Just think of how many people -- frightened by a simple list of names and phone numbers -- will now be able to view a house and "get a feeling for it", making that phone call ever so much more likely. Our plan calls for building on the search traffic to put together a terrific site which we would like to eventually be THE "go to" resource site for anybody interested in alcohol and drug abuse, addiction, and recovery.
